Porto and Lisbon Tour 5 nights/ 6 days

1st day Lisbon – Inside the city

Arrive in Lisbon in the early afternoon, Transfer and check-in to your hotel.

In the afternoon with your local guide take a first inside to Lisbon in a walking tour through the narrow streets and alleys of this beautiful city! Enjoy some of the most well located viewpoints where you can appreciate the most beautiful views. Finish directly at your dinner place, a charming Pateo where you will indulge in the most typical of all Lisbon’s dishes: Caldo Verde, grilled Sardines, and pork meat, Salad made of roasted green peppers and the famous Leite Crème – Crème Brulée – Portuguese style (suggestion). Overnight at the hotel.


2nd day – Lisbon: Belem’s delights, the Blue Cost and the land of Moscatel

After breakfast meet your driver/guide and move in during the morning to the banks of the Tagus River until Belem. The smell of the river, the view, the blue sky and the beautiful and historical monuments all part of the magnificence of that area. Arriving at Belem, you will learn about one of the most colourful periods in Portugal’s History: when the sailors went to Africa, India and Brazil, and brought spices and new dishes and culinary habits from the new world. Visit the ex libris of the town, such as the monument to the Portuguese discoveries, the stunning Jerónimos Monastery and the Belém Tower. Now you deserve a sweet break to taste the sweetest secret nowadays already known outside Portuguese borders. The delicious crispy Belem Pastries – Pastéis de Belém.

After Belém your destiny is the other side of the river -  Sesimbra (about 1hour distance). Sesimbra is a small fishing village and a popular place for weekend houses for the people from Lisbon. Overlook the beach while enjoying a wonderful fish dish – the Cataplana, one of the special dishes of the area. After lunch visit José Maria da Fonseca, the first table wine producer in Portugal. Piriquita is the indigenous grape until now well known and sold in many local restaurants.

Visit the manor house nowadays a museum and learn everything about the production of Moscatel, this producer is famous for. Finally enjoy tasting: red and white wine from the area and the delicious cheese from Azeitão. Return to the hotel.

In the evening you should explore Bairro Alto – where all the night life of Lisbon happens! Be a guest of one of the most well known chefs in Portugal in a small restaurant that serves a degustation and wine matching menu featuring the best of his cuisine. (Optional) Enjoy! Overnight at the hotel.


3rd day  Lisbon - Porto city

After check-out, go with your private driver/guide to Porto, not more than a 3 hour journey!

Arriving there check-in at the Hotel. Then go into a walking tour through the narrow streets and alleys of the Porto Ribeira area (considered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site). Finish your morning with a delightful lunch at a Restaurant with a beautiful view to the river and with typical Portuguese food!

After lunch, cross the bridge D. Luis to the other side of the Douro river – Vila Nova de Gaia –where all the Port wine cellars are – visit and taste in one of the most ancient cellars (almost 3 centuries of history) owned by one of the main producers of Port wine! Dinner at a restaurant nearby the beach is an option (optional). This restaurant recommended is known by its trendiness, good food and excellent service! If you wish to have a glimpse of Porto by night go to Aliados Avenue where the nightlife is! Overnight at the hotel.


4th day – Explore Douro

After breakfast, enjoy the trip to the Douro Valley – another UNESCO Heritage Site; Stop for a visit and wine tasting at one of the most emblematic wineries owned by the descents of the famous “Ferreirinha” and part of the Douro Boys! After tasting time to go to Pinhão pier to enjoy a cruise (start around 12.30pm) in a Rabelo boat (typical boat of that region that used to carry the wine barrels from the Douro Valley to the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia) that will last about one hour and there you’ll have the opportunity to appreciate the magnificence of the Douro landscape from the river point of view! Return to Pinhão pier and it is time to lunch! In 15mins your private driver will take you to one of the best Douro restaurants owned by a famous Chef and located in the river banks with an excellent food. After lunch, you can’t leave Douro without having another visit and tasting! Time to meet a property that was actually the first in Douro Valley that bottled their own wine creating their own brand and it’s nowadays in the 4th generation of the family. Return to Porto city.

Last night in Porto – Free dinner! Overnight at the Hotel.


5th day – Return to Lisbon – Stop at Medieval Óbidos Town

After breakfast and check-out it’s time to go back to Lisbon again. But in the way you have to stop first in a small and charming wine producer , an organic winery nearby Óbidos where the owner and his wife make their own special wines – time for lunch and tasting. After lunch, stop at Óbidos Village – a medieval town between walls where you have the feeling of being back in time! Enjoy the place take some pictures and try some Ginjinha – a special liqueur made by infusing ginja berries (sour cherry) – typical from that region! Return to Lisbon and check in at the Hotel. Night free to enjoy the beautiful Portuguese capital for the last time (for know). Overnight at the Hotel.


6th day – Last day

After breakfast - check-out and transfer to the airport to pick your flight back home!
