Sintra for Wine Lovers

One day tour in Colares Wine Region. We start where everything begins – the vineyard. In Fontanelas, we will be able to enjoy the centennial vines of the Ramisco grape variety which origin the Colares wines. After this visit, we will go to Adega Viúva Gomes, where our wine course is going to take place. The Colares wine history, the vines and the local grape varieties, the harvest, the winemaking and aging process is some of the information we will receive from the expert.

At lunch time, we will enjoy the “Leitão de Negrais” (suckling pig from Negrais). To finalize lunch, one “bica” (expresso coffee) will be served. Then, we will be ready to visit the lovely Vila of Sintra. A visit to Sintra's National Palace and sightseeing is included. For our “lanche” (afternoon snack) we must visit one, of the only three, Queijadas de Sintra factories. Here we are going to learn the history of the Queijadas (small cheesecakes) and from others traditional Sintra's sweets.

Around 7p.m. is time to start to prepare our dinner! Our Chef will present and will cook several Sintra's products for our dinner, such as fresh fish, rich green vegetables, smooth cheeses or tasteful apples. He says, he needs some help, so, be ready to help him! In the meantime, our Sommelier will be present to tell us all about the wines chosen for the evening and after the aperitif our dinner will be ready. Enjoy!
